Preserve is a collection created from the personal conflict of being a Chinese New Zealander. I have been influenced both by the tradition of the handmade and also by the rising use of technology; combining the aesthetics of traditional Chinese clothing and aspects of Western tailoring techniques. This blend of processes creates a dynamic which preserves the past, whilst also discovering the possibilities of that which lies ahead - asking the question 'how does the use of technology enhance the integrity and value of traditional craft'?
