Bailey Mitchell

My final BFA project satires ‘hookup-culture’, and explores manifestations of sexual liberation through portraiture. The works on show subvert spectatorship, recasting the audience as voyeurs. Loose painterly application echoes the fast-paced nature of online dating and challenges historical notions of figurative painting as something highly rendered and formally posed.

I hope to extend my practice to include commissioned pieces after university. Email regarding commissions.
