Finding silver linings in the everyday is a choice, influenced by moving into an urban environment and having lived in several drab flats. As an antidote to these rather bleak places, my domestic interior paintings are exuberantly bright. I transform my mundane surroundings into spaces of vibrant colour, detailed patterning and off-kilter perspectives. There is, after all, a childlike pleasure in finding joy in the everyday.
