‘Wearing my Heart on my Sleeve’ is a personal exploration into the complex nature of identity within the cultural diaspora in Aotearoa through the medium of tattoos. This collection of illustrations, images, and writing depicts my journey with reclaiming my cultural heritage through a taboo subject. By elevating the tattoo medium through an exploration of my own emotional experiences, hopefully, this can highlight similar experiences faced by others.
