‘a crack in the wall’ comprises of two companion publications which explore the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi. It captures the beauty of things that are imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. ‘a collection of imperfections’ is my personal photographic journey, documenting my life in Kelburn during lockdown. Together, they explore my interpretation and understanding of wabi-sabi and are designed to engage the reader in this fascinating concept.
