‘Hideout’ is a tool designed to support children who are regularly in hospital. It creates a sense of control and normality through distraction and connection. ‘Hideout’ exists as a hybrid digital and augmented reality space that gives hospitalised children a chance to play, connect, and shape their hospital experience. The children create their own character, and they can invite friends and family to collaborate in decorating their treehouse and leave gifts behind for other patients.
