Sci-fi is my favourite genre in cinema, so when I had the opportunity to make a film this year, I wanted to make a sci-fi short film. The challenge of making Function was to make a film that has deep themes, and is entertaining our target audience. We have achieved this by making Function interpretable in many ways, and while it does take liberties, it is rooted in scientific theory.

Function is a sci-fi drama short film about a scientist named Adrian who values his work over his family. When he finds himself in a parallel world where his family is dead, he must find a way back home or live in a world where his loved ones are gone. The film explores betrayal and the consequences of choosing your work over the ones you love.
