Bachelor of Creative Media Production
As the editor of Finding the Lighthouse, I wanted to create an interesting and dynamic edit that captured a slice of a complex relationship. My aim was to edit it in such a way that allows the audience to get into the characters’ heads and understand their driving forces. During post production I worked closely with our director to ensure that his vision was being communicated on screen, and crafted and refined the edit to piece together a genuine and meaningful story. It was such a rewarding experience to be able to spend my final year doing what I love and upskilling myself in my field.
Finding the Lighthouse is a heartwarming short drama following two estranged sisters who must overcome their differences while on a journey to spread their mother’s ashes at a lighthouse. Our film is honest and true, with our authentic voices fueling the representation, struggles and choices of the characters. Finding the Lighthouse shines a light on humility and human connection and is a strong film that will impact a large audience, providing sentimental value, empathy and empowerment for LGBT+ communities and women around the world.
